Tiger Woods has long called Florida home, and a recent incident has once again put the golf legend in the spotlight, but not for his performance on the course. Instead, it’s a troubling situation that has those closest to him, including his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, feeling uneasy.

According to a source, Nordegren is “concerned” following Woods’ latest DUI-related crash, which reportedly took place on March 27 in Jupiter Island. The accident itself sounds scary enough—Woods allegedly clipped a trailer and ended up rolling his Range Rover. Thankfully, it doesn’t appear to have resulted in life-threatening injuries, but it’s the bigger picture that has people worried, per PEOPLE.

This isn’t an isolated situation. Woods has had a complicated history when it comes to car accidents, including a very serious crash in 2021 in California that required surgery and a long, painful recovery. Before that, there was the highly publicized 2009 incident in Florida during a turbulent time in his personal life. So when news broke of yet another crash, this time involving a DUI, it understandably raised some red flags.

For Nordegren, the concern isn’t just about Woods as an individual, it’s about their kids. The former couple, who split back in 2010 after six years of marriage, share two teenagers: daughter Sam and son Charlie. And by all accounts, those relationships matter.

“The kids are close with Tiger, so of course Elin cares too,” the source explained. “She wants him to be well. Both kids are great and love spending time with their dad. Elin’s concerned that he had another car crash and got arrested.”

That’s the part that really hits. Whatever happened between Woods and Nordegren in the past, there’s clearly still a level of mutual respect when it comes to co-parenting. It’s less about old drama and more about making sure their kids have a healthy, present father.

Another detail that adds some emotional weight here is just how brutal Woods’ recovery has been over the years. After that 2021 crash, things were far from easy. “His recovery from the crash [in 2021] in California was brutal,” the source shared, adding that Nordegren ultimately just wants him to make better choices moving forward. “It’s about his health and being there for the kids.”

Fans Want Tiger To Get It Together

What makes this situation even more complicated is that, professionally, Woods has been trying to push forward. He recently made a return to competitive golf after being sidelined, even competing in the TGL finals alongside his Jupiter Links team. It wasn’t a win, but it was a step back into the spotlight. He’s also been candid about his ongoing physical struggles, admitting, “Sometimes I have good days, sometimes I have bad days. Disc replacement is not a lot of fun.”

“Tiger is not a stand up guy. He didn’t have a good role model growing up. Having a parent with integrity raises a good person, not a bad one. No amount of money makes you happy,” one person commented online. “I would be more concerned about my kids and every other kid. I don’t care what Woods does to himself, I care who he kills or injures,” said another. “[He] Needs to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY,” a third comment read.

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods has also had support from his current girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, who was seen cheering him on recently. But even with that support system, moments like this remind everyone that things aren’t exactly smooth sailing behind the scenes.
